Olde England has some strange place names!

I'm about to take you on a journey of discovery from WETWANG to TITTY-HO!!!
I KNOW, what a jolly jaunt you're in for!!
Having been away camping in my tent, I came across a couple of rather strange and amusing 'place names' for towns and villages in England that had me merrily chortling behind my driving wheel!.

This really got my interest going and having done some searching on other names of places around the UK, I thought I'd share just 'a few' that I came up with. Many date to very old Anglo-Saxon times when the words they used then had very different meanings and backgrounds to what we have for them now!! (language and meanings is very fluid through the ages and is continually evolving).
So... With rather hilarious (well I think so!) results, grab your Ginger Beer and make yourself comfortable. Enjoy having a giggle or two!
