WITH TEMPERATURES plummeting to minus 20 up here on the Scottish Border counties and roads transformed into sheets of ice that would challenge Torvil and Dean, Winter has truely come to Britain with a 'punch' this year!!
Positives are that it does look like a scene from a CS Lewis novel and the snow drifts outside are ideal for chilling 'the drink,' or making snow angels..!!!...but the downside is that the roads are lethal, as are the temperatures for those that are vulnerable and don't take precautions against it.
Even my little 'pint sized' boys are feeling it and needing jackets and insulation against this 'early' cold SNAP!!
So, it's been on with the open fires, on with the sheepskin flying jacket and on with the mulled wine warming over the stove!! yum!! (medicinal of course).
Welcome to PADDY'S WINTER WONDERLAND COCKTAIL LOUNGE!!
Oh the snow is lovely and your 'pint sized' boys are adorable in their jackets! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThanks we'll try!
ReplyDelete"The snow is snowing, the wind is blowing
ReplyDeleteBut I can weather the storm
What do I care how much it may storm?
I've got my love to keep me warm
I can't remember a worse December
Just watch those icicles form
What do I care if icicles form?
I've got my love to keep me warm
Off with my overcoat
Off with my glove
I need no overcoat
I'm burning with love
My heart's on fire, the flame grows higher
So I will weather the storm
What do I care how much it may storm?
I've got my love to keep me warm."
Ah, I think you DO truly live in Narnia, Paddy. You and the boys do look indeed toasty warm all bundled up! The mulled wine surely helps! Please take care on those treacherous roads, and perhaps share a picture or two of some Paddy-made snow angels this winter season on your blog if possible- I'm sure we'd all love to see these from you!
