Had a wonderful relaxing Sunday tottering around the little town of Tynemouth (yes, on the mouth of the Tyne River). It has a wonderful market every Sunday in the old Victorian Railway Station (which is still in use).
You can while away the hours in the little Coffee Houses, or amble up to the Beach which is well used by the Surfers. Then there's the old Abbey or the Church on the High Street which has now become home to lots of little cottage industry type shops. Me...I just grab my Cappucinno, sit outside and watch the world go by...
Visiting about at Tynemouth surely seems to be a lovely way to while away some or all of a Sunday, Paddy. Thank you for sharing about your time there and posting these pictures here on your blog.
ReplyDeleteWith Paddy Wagon's Cocktail Lounge as my guide, I've become quite the wistful and hopeful romantic of an armchair traveler! Makes me want to get up and out of the chair and get out and about to visit all of these wonderful places, and take up the game of 'at-adventuring'! I suppose it should have just that effect on one, eh?
What a beautiful place to spend a Sunday! That indoor market looks like a place I could lose myself in for hours, amongst the hidden gems and stacks of books.
ReplyDeleteAnd what's this? England has surfers? I wonder how the currents are as we get a very, very cold current making our water temperatures quite chilly. I don't even snorkel without a spring suit on the warmest day.
