BRACKENBER Old Boys Dinner coming up.

My old school annual reunion is coming up early next year (just got the date through). It's held at one of the last remaining Gentlemen's Clubs (of the old classic, traditonal type, ie: leather club chairs, oil paintings, regimental crests..etc, like a 1920's time warp) in the north of Ireland. It's not unlike the picture I've shown from a 30's Esquire magazine. The most wonderful of old buildings where you are greeting by a doorman and there is a working wrought iron 1920's lift to get up to the floors if you don't want to walk up the mahogany bannistered stairs. It really is a little oasis of civility and a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of 21st Century living outside these hallowed walls. There is a nice little plaque tucked on the wall in memory of one of the members, a Mr Anderson who was the chief designer of the RMS Titanic, and went down with it on the maiden voyage of 1912.

Here are some photos from previous years, so I'd better be off to book the flights.
